Weekly assessment #6

This week we continued focusing on prototype 1. At first, we just implemented Unreal engine. Then we faced a lot of problems. Although we only had two days left, we still decided to try Unity engine for backup. Since we have tried both engine, we knew their advantages and limitations. We will decide our engine and reconsider our game settings.

Works I’ve done this week are:

• Joining all the discussions to design our game;

• Since our unreal didn’t work very well, I took charge of implementing prototype1 in Unity. I firstly imported all the 3D assets we have currently, added some visual styles, and added colliders to models. Then I implemented the movement of the main character, trying to attach our own moving animations to the main character. At last, I tested attract ability, the mouse can pick an object and trigger the movement of it.

• Watching tutorials about unity and unreal, learning how to set up project and how to implement our main mechanics. Besides, I was dealing with the issues of skeleton matching in both unity and unreal. So I did some research about it and tested a lot to fix the problem.

• Asking my friend to do play testing, and writing down his feedbacks.
