Weekly assessment #2

This week we worked on refining our game mechanics and getting started with the game design and UnReal. We decided to focus on gravity control and discussed a lot about different abilities associated with gravity control. Besides, we figured out our gameplay perspective and types of enemies.

I watched a couple of tutorial videos of UnReal and I have basic ideas about visual implementation in UnReal. I’m planning to do some research and sketches on the pre-made character and environment assets to decide the artistic style of our game and using illustrator and maya to try different color plan.

Works I’ve done this week are:

• participating the discussion of game mechanics and game design;

• watching all the videos and documentation of Unreal related to visual parts;

• starting doing some casual character sketches for inspiration;

• doing some 3D character design and 3D environment in Maya for inspiration.
